Vancouver Negotiates with Müller for Historic Signing

According to The Athletic, Vancouver Whitecaps are in advanced negotiations with Thomas Müller to bring the 35-year-old Bayern Munich legend to Major League Soccer (MLS). Müller hinted in a video that his next chapter would be “across the ocean.”

The deal depends on acquiring his “discovery rights” from FC Cincinnati, who previously held talks with Müller and are reportedly asking for around $400,000.

Müller, Bayern’s all-time appearance leader, could become Vancouver’s most iconic signing, surpassing even the star-studded rosters of Toronto FC and CF Montréal. His track record includes 250 goals, 223 assists, 33 trophies with Bayern, and a World Cup win in 2014.

Originally seeking a “Designated Player” deal, Müller may now join under Targeted Allocation Money (TAM), allowing for a mid-season boost to Vancouver’s title ambitions.
