Jordanian youth Hashim Al-Zawahreh faced a life-threatening health emergency after drinking an energy beverage mixed with concentrated artificial juices for the first time in his life, according to a post he shared on Facebook.
Al-Zawahreh reported feeling intense chest pain and a rapid heartbeat shortly after consuming the drink. He was rushed to Zarqa Governmental Hospital, where medical tests revealed elevated heart muscle enzymes—an alarming sign for cardiac health. He remained under close medical observation from 8 p.m. until the following morning.
Describing the experience as "a near-death encounter," Al-Zawahreh emphasized that he has no chronic conditions or prior medical history, asserting that the incident was a direct result of the beverage.
In a warning message posted on "Al Arabiya Jordan" pages, Al-Zawahreh stated:
"Avoid trying energy drinks, even out of curiosity. Just one can nearly ended my life. I urge every young person and parent to stay away from these canned poisons sold in the market."
He concluded his post with prayers and gratitude to the medical staff, noting that he is still undergoing treatment and following medical advice. His message aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of energy drinks on public health.
