President of the Brazilian Football Federation Responds to Guardiola Negotiation Rumors

In a statement published by the British newspaper Daily Mail, Ednaldo Rodrigues said, “I understand that Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches in the world, but we have not pursued him in any way; the national team coach is Dorival Júnior.”

Guardiola addressed the speculation about coaching Brazil following Manchester City’s 4-1 defeat to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday. Joking in his post-match press conference, he said, “After a 4-1 defeat, I am no longer an option.”

Guardiola has previously expressed interest in managing a national team to compete in either the World Cup or the European Championship.
